Maybe it’s called ‘Power People’ or something normally, and this is one of those weird event comics or Elseworlds where they change the name.
Except Hawkeye, go read Hawkeye.
So it’s like a Daniel Way and Brian Micheal Bendis team up?
Well said pony princess did not stay as a pony when she transported to “Imp world”. So this is a huge step up in a portal sense.
There have been numerous genre’s in comic’s besides Superheroes for years upon years, since the beginning there have other comics besides superheroes. Yes you are right, they do take the number 1 spot on most lists, but even comics have produced Preacher, Sandman, The Invisibles, and other’s from the Verigo line (which is an offshoot of DC) or even Marvel comic’s like Dark Tower, are critically acclaimed and commercially successful books that have nothing to do with Superheroes from the big 2.
I don’t get this hate boner you have for Marvel/DC. Did you get rejected from those 2 studios on an idea you had? Did you get raped by a guy in a Superman costume when you where 4? What is your deal?
Woah there! Calm your nipples!
That’s because Superheroes have been the ONLY THING keeping the American comic industry afloat when people decided that superheroes were the only genre worth a damn, and that no one outside of the established dumb nerd fanbase could ever be interested in anything else. This was before the godsend of alternative comics given to us by publishers outside of “The Big Two” mind you.
That’s why Superheroes are the top grossing movie franchises right now (the with the Marvel Cinematic Universe standing as the top grossing movie franchise ever, and it’s barely even begun) and the fact that Comic’s are actually in a better place they are now then they ever where before the dawn of the Superhero, who basically jump-started the comic book industry in the first place, I think Superheroes are here to stay.
Also, most of the greatest comic book’s of all time have been Superheroes, with exceptions of course, and these character’s have been producing solid storytelling for at least 50 years with some hiccups here and there… and the fact that there are still plenty of great stories in comic’s that don’t have anything to do with Superheroes like… pretty much everything at IDW, i don’t see why you have to overreact so much. Superheroes have done more good for the medium than bad.
As long as they’re good stories, Superheroes can cover a wide array of genres in and on themselves (Sandman and Constantine come to mind) if they make for entertaining and well put together stories it doens’t make a difference (Obvious exceptions like everything).
Those are often times rare exceptions to what you usually get in a superhero story that is genuinely new and fresh. Because OBVIOUSLY there is no such thing as a lack of diversity, stagnation, over-saturation, The fact that Superheroes receiving WAAAY TOO MUCH ATTENTION like there are no other genres in American comics etc etc At the and of the day most people DON’T GIVE A DAMN about your favorite brain-dead nancyboy and their never ending sh!t-tier stories.
So, exactly like the MLP comics?
Yeah I mean, just look at stuff like Watchmen, Next Wave, All-Star Superman pfff, who needs those?
Superheroes and the superhero genre in general are a cancer, The american comic book industry is pretty much dead because of them.
So it’s like the new 52?
I for one actually quite like the comics :P
