To be specific, Lupa dug up an old Twitter comment and started a flame war between various critics who all have really short tempered. But it was made far, far worse when TGWTG.com’s managers manage to do make several mistakes in a row and accidentally makes it looks like Spoony was fired. WELP.
The actual reason Spoony left was because he was really hating TGWTG.com’s business models and policies, and he wasn’t making much money from them, so when Doug Walker decided he was stopping the Nostalgia Critic, Spoony left too.
It wouldn’t have been nearly as bad if Lupa did it, like, the day after Noah acted like a creeper.
It’s the fact that she dug it up, what, months after it had already passed and made it into a shtstorm that brought the executives into it.
Make no mistake, nobody was clean in it, except for probably, ironically, enough Hope (in this case).
The “random” comment that Spoony made was pretty much him saying he’d like to chain Jesu up in his basement-dungeon. I know full well that Spoony is bi-polar (and I think he was only diagnosed during/just after Spoonygate), but that’s still an unbelievably fcked up thing to even joke about, especially since IRC, it was completely out of the blue and not funny, even as a “joke”.
And this is someone who doesn’t dislike Spoony, hasn’t forgiven Lupa, and absolutely dispises Hope for her awful personality and, frankly, sh*tty taste in pop culture.
And then Spoony made a random comment, Lupa dug it up from the grave and caused a flame war or whatever the hell happened…
It’s always good to remember that every person that could be considered a celebrity is a human like every other.
Pedestializing and thinking that every person who is visible in the public eye is a saint will set up for disappointment and disillusionment. She isn’t a bad person, but definitely being critical of some of her opinions is in order.
The plus side is, that it should be pretty clear by now, that whoever is anti-brony also carries other baggage that makes them generally a prejudiced individual to many others as well.
Oh, great. I actually kinda liked her, she even introduced her to my favorite anime Trigun.
Hey, that’s made mainly with a male audience in mind! How can she be so inconsiderate to steal my favourite anime from me?
JesuOtaku has made a few anti-brony tweets using the typical language of all bronies are misogynistic and how bronies are stealing the show from little girls.
She has also made some homophobic and other less than progressive remarks in her lifetime.
By her own words, she has had a very Christian-conservative upbringing, so you can fill out the blanks what kind of a person we are talking about here.
Would you mind filling me in about what JesuOtaku did? Haven’t heard it yet. Was it similar to the whole way overblown Spoony thing?
Cuteosphere probably already saw this. I hope Teddy gets a look at some point.
As long as you’re at least 5’3” tall, you’re in a healthy weight range. (Or are even dangerously underweight if you’re over 6’1”.)
140 pounds, probably not.
If kilos, probably yes.
