Yeah, that does sound pretty interesting. Final Fantasy has a reocurring problem of having status effects be completely worthless except for one or two enemies whom you can totally cheese against.
It’s more fun when you fight Jin for a second time, and you have equipment/Personae that have no weaknesses. Then he just resorts to status inducing skills XD
Oooooh. I honestly didn’t know that.
That’s just it; Odin’s instant-death effect works on the back portion… but ONLY if you summon him with the Magic Lamp. It otherwise fails like it normally would on most bosses.
Hm, didn’t think about that.
I generally never bother with instant-death effects like petrify or death. They never, ever, EVER work on the enemies that you want them to work on.

…Catoblepas turns the enemies to stone. How would that help with Almagest?
and if you’re limited to 4 classes you can attempt to get lucky with Catoplepas for the almagast part
