Yes, we technically want her to be happy (if her life wasn’t already perfect and handed to her), but for a theoretical Twilight that wasn’t a complete tool(maybe late S2?), we would want Twilight to date someone with something we like to call ‘depth’. Their relationship in the movie is pretty much them wanting to bang each other, interests and conversation be damned, and Flash is about as interesting as a ken doll. Why would we care about pairing someone we care about with a ken doll.
 
Twilight keeps her emotions and her friends at arms length so she can prioritize Celestia. The only reason I would ever ship Flashlight is if I considered Twilight to be a lost cause, and their lack of depth match well with each other. If Flash had a personality or an identity, then things would be different.

I personally love it myself, but even I can admit it the ship has some leaks. However, like any diagnosis, knowing what’s wrong is what allows you to fix it, and you ignore the bad at your own peril.
