Without it, he’s not quite his true self. …Maybe, since he was arrested immediately after being framed, the body was taken into storage. he has her robotic ‘heart,’ which contains her ‘soul,’ and finds out later her body, complete with CPu and other hardware that would truly make Cadance herself, is able to be restored fully by reuniting the parts. Yay, happy ending!
