The reason she attacked Canterlot is because the PRINCESS OF LOVE HERSELF was there, and Shining Armor’s undying love for her was used to eliminate any threat. How did she get defeated? Off-topic: First time I saw your name some time in the past, and all subsequent times, all I could think of was chilling out Maxin’ relaxin’ all cool and shooting some B-ball outside the school, when a couple of guys– they were up to no good– started makin’ trouble in my neighborhood. I got in one little fight, and my mom got scared, and she said you’re moving in with your aunt and uncle in Bel-Air. :D

Yes of course the changelings attacked Canterlot because Chrysalis was there. But it’s obvious she was not only out to feed her minions but to fulfill her own power lust. If she were really out to feed her minions don’t you think she would have catered to their hungry bellies before hers?  
Chrysalis: you can go. You can go. You can.. WAIT! … Where the hell is your disguise?”  
Changeling: changes into a pony  
Chrysalis: there you go, now move on you’re holding up the line… You can go. You can go
 
And so on. She snuck in herself, abducted Cadance, and went forth to gain power.
 
Sure, Chrysalis did what she had to. Perhaps taking over Equestria would give them endless food because they would have the ponies as their slaves. But they have obviously received food elsewhere and are not starving to death. Especially having such energy, as stated before, to attack.
 
What you are doing, sir, is trying to dismiss claim by coming up with a comeback as irrelevant as “they attacked because Chrysalis was there” no they didn’t. They attacked because they wanted to. They attacked because they thought it would be fun to terrorize the ponies, not because Chrysalis was there.  
Please, brony, stop being do hard headed. You think I am over thinking these things when it is in fact YOU with the supposed hive mind that the changelings have. Running along and believe what a group of people believe and not being able to think for yourself and come up with a sensible rebuttal to my claims.
 
Your argument is dismissed because you obviously have nothing to say to challenge what I have spoken.

And she was there because she saw the perfect opportunity so solve the thing once and for all.

NO other area around Equestria had a shield up, they could have went and fed off of EVERY other creature in Equestria.  
Why would they choose Canterlot if it’s the hardest area to reach in all of Equestria? PonyVille, Manehatten, Phillidelphia. They could have went THERE to eat, but no. They chose Canterlot because Chrysalis wanted to rule Equestria. Of course, she wanted to rule with her minions and have all the love in all of the world for her and her minions to feed off of forever. So they wouldn’t have to go hunting or looking for food. The ponies would be their slaves if Chrysalis had taken over, therefore, endless food. They wouldn’t had to go hunting and seeking out food, they would have an endless amount to feed off of forever. Again, not starving, but perhaps gluttonous…

Yes. This is true. But it was also obvious that she didn’t go to Canterlot just to feed her minions. She could have went anywhere else, but she went to Canterlot because that’s where Celestia dwells. She wanted to take the thrown. Not just feed her minions. Notice how when she sends her minions out to feed, that they do eat right away. They have fun attacking and terrorizing the land :/ if they were really that hungry they would have eaten something before doing so.  
The changelings were alive when they got to Canterlot, and apparently had enough energy to break the shield and attack everyone before getting a morsel.  
They wanted to be POWERFUL. They had food, they just wanted more power, especially the queen.

Whether they starved or not, it’s clear they somehow needed to do that, or they wouldn’t have risked their asses on that.

This is nicely drawn…. But who said the changelings were starving? I don’t recall hearing it in the show.. I guess it’s a fanon. A fanon that doesn’t make any sense. Yes, they do look skinny as opposed to other equines, but they are not equines, they are changelings. Cheetahs look like they are always skinny and starving as well, but they are not. It’s just the way they are built; perhaps changelings are the same way.
 
Not nagging, I’m just putting that out there C: great art. Like the shading and the raid effects. Keep up the good work

In a more serious note, that almost sounded at first like a fitting scenario for my OC, Poisoned Soul.

And then ChrysalisLover shows up… his hands on his hips gazing down upon the weary and beaten Changelings, a ray of sunlight behind him illuminating the scene. “I shall save you!” he declares.
 
And then they all got fat.
