Firefly is going away to college at the end of the summer, so yeah. :(
@TheRedDouglas
So much ships.
Thank you for saying this.
Are… They herding ducks or I need to get my eyes checked?
Yuri mangas aren’t slow as much as the rubegolberguese in their attempt at playing with your emotions as they try to make you want to go “just kiss her, you fool!”
Agreed. I re-read it, and there’s nothing that could have come out. It was huge for Dash’s character growth.
People who think this was slow have obviously never read a yuri manga…
This chapter has been a little slow, even for someone like me that likes deliberate pacing, but I don’t know if it could have been shortened to any significant degree without losing something. There were certainly some good scenes over the course of the chapter, but it feels more like it’s setting things up for future chapters, at the cost of having very little in the way of dramatic (or comedic) payoffs right now.
@Background Pony #372E
They never actually showed General Firefly in the show, so I don’t have a problem with there being more than one pegasus named Firefly. (Personally, I like to think of G1 Firefly as being Rainbow Dash’s mother, and G1 Posey as being Fluttershy’s mother, but I don’t hold it against a story if it doesn’t follow that headcanon.)
I know that feel :’c
pat pat on his/her back
Abuse, social pressure; granted, these don’t make actually make someone gay, but that was my point. Not that that is really relevant to DA anyways.
Also, I did like the story before this chapter; way too much stagnation this chapter. Still hoping it will get better.
Yup, nailed it as to why this relationship makes sense within the context of this story. Very well said. ;)
@shionshy
”I have been shipping Surprise and Dash all along. Now my ship sank.“
Aaaaaawww…sorry to hear that. I remember when I started shipping Soarinshy and that was sunk…because my girlfriend started shipping Soarity. XD
“Other than being born that way”? I get that you don’t care for the ship or story, but honestly, I’m baffled as to how else someone develops a queer sexual orientation.
We already knew the RD/Gilda friendship was going to eventually end badly; see “Griffon the Brush Off”. I can’t see it crashing and burning in this comic, as then Gilda wouldn’t have any incentive to visit Dash in that episode, but it does look like the author is depicting the shifting plate boundaries that end up as the volcanic explosion depicted in GtBO.
@Mattatatta
This. I’ve been reading it since the first installment was posted online, and that despite the fact that that first page was centered around one of my least-favorite brony cliches, the “wingboner”. Early on I had the feeling this comic would move in a direction towards portraying Rainbow Dash as a lesbian, something I was tired of almost before I got involved in the fandom, but as Mattatatta so capably summarized, the budding Rainfly ship has been handled really well in this comic, developing remarkably naturally rather than just a quick “meet-cute-ooh-now-I-have-a-crush” that’s much more common.
So now I’m holding out hope that the inevitable drama to follow is at least not absolutely highschool retardation tier.
But whatever drama will ensue, I can already predict that Billy will be the ringleader, which already disappoints me. I hate characters like that. They are so lazy.
Or maybe she’s bisexual? Hmmm…I mean is this story still supposed to be happening within “canon” ?
