i remembered where the image’s familiarity comes from, the manga ‘samurai deeper kyo’. one of the characters has the same condition except it’s a symbol, not a gem on her chest
You’re possibly thinking of Utsuho Reiuji from the Touhou series of games - she also has a red crystal thing on her chest and a lot of her fanart does the whole ‘actually embedded in her flesh’ thing Adagio is pulling off in this pic, complete with vein-y lines.
