Yeah, the posture overall is very awkward. The really strange thing is that the areas of the image I loosely freehanded - such as the cuirass - look much better than the parts I took more time on and framed out such as the hands and face.

I guess I’m trying too hard?

I like the pose and clothing, it’s very reminiscent of those old engravings of the Landsknechts carrying their zweihänders. even the way the feet aren’t quite in correct perspective.
