Noble Strike: Alright trainees, today we’re training with the unicorns. They’ll be using a projectile spell to try and hit those targets behind you. Your job is to protect those targets. Understand?

Noble Strike: Fletcher! You’re up first.

Noble Strike: Alright begin!
 
Fletcher skillfully shields the targets from all blasts but one
 
Noble Strike: Wow, only one target was hit. Very impressive, Fletcher. Next!
 
Fletcher: throws shield on the ground and walks away

Starburst: F-Fletcher? What are you doing?
 
Fletcher: Oh, hallo Princess. I’m just leaving

Fletcher: I failed at the exercise.

Fletcher: Because I failed. I don’t deserve to be here
 
Starburst: I fail everyday! I train so hard to get into the guard or just get the opportunity to train but because of my size I just can’t seem to get there. But I still try! I never quit! I know it can be easy to get discouraged but this is ridiculous!
 
Fletcher: I-I… If it was any other exercise it might not have been so bad but… it was a defense exercise. The most important kind
 
Starburst: I still don’t understand
 
Fletcher: I’m supposed to protect, Princess. In real life, somepony could have been hurt while under my protection. What of that target was you, Princess? I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if you got hurt.
 
Starburst: blushes ……………. f-first of all, if that target was me, I wouldn’t have been hit. I’m not that helpless. And second of all, you’re still in training. You’re here to learn how to protect better. You’re not here to be perfect at everything. You’d be in the guard already if that were the case.
 
Fletcher: …………
 
Starburst: Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re one of the best guys out there.
 
Fletcher: Thank you Princess but
 
Starburst: No buts! And you don’t have to call me princess. I hate that.
 
Fletcher: Sorry, Pri Starburst
