From what I recall in researching Arabic name format, what you say is more of a Westernized convenience. What’s interesting was when I was developing Amira’s character is that yes her name means Princess, but as I take it she is not a Princess, but more of a Politician (unless I am M.A. Larson).
In grabbing the other names for her Father and her Grandfather I tried staying away from Biblical names because I’m trying to keep this as pony as possible, but still keeping in line with the actual Saudi culture.
Well Amira means princess, so there’s that ^^
Thanks for explaining that. I’m guessing Amirah’s a noblemare to have such a complex name; I seem to recall most Arabic names are (Name) son/daughter of (Name) and that’s it.
Amirah (Princess) abnh (daughter)[of] Faris (Knight) ibn (son of) Hakim (wise) El-Amin (Truthful).
Personal name - Fathers name - Grandfather’s name - Family name
somethingknight, daughter of wise, the thruthful”I can’t nail down what “abnh” means…
