@LanceOmikron
Huh, I didn’t think it was that long. (Considering how powerful Meta Knight was, he could blaze through the stages pretty quickly.) Plus it had a save feature between areas at least.
I think it can be summed up that Kirby’s pretty darn badass.
Also, this video comes to mind.
@Beau Skunky
I admit, I never played the meta knight mode more than once. It was fun and I loved playing as meta knight, but the mode felt a little too long to play through more than once for the sake of getting a quicker time. I have similar feelings about Dedede mode in Triple Deluxe.
It was tons of fun to have a new arena mode. Given that I had beaten the original arena mode at least a hundred times before, I’m always up for a tougher version.
Anyways, I guess the main thing to take away from this conversation is that Kirby games are great, and Kirby himself is a supreme badass, especially when you step back and consider all the enemies he’s fought: He’s defeated tyrannical despots, dark gods, cosmic horrors, and countless other monsters from the depths of space. He’s challenged and handily defeated the sort of eldritch abominations that most characters only see in their nightmares. If a villain finds themselves facing Kirby, they might as well pack up and go home. ^_ ^
@LanceOmikron
Yeah, “Helper to Hero” was pretty good, and I liked how it allowed you to play as the helper/enemy characters. I also liked how the “character/ability select screen” spoofed fighting game selection screens kinda.
The Arena modes were quite challenging, but fun.
I especially liked the new mode that lets you play as Meta Knight through all original 6 “Super Star” games/areas. Sure he’s a li’l over-powered, but it was still fun. (Especially, trying to beat your best times.)
@Beau Skunky
Indeed, Super Star Ultra was great. Same awesome game, but more!
Helper to Hero mode definitely presented some interesting challenges when it came time to play as a helper whose ability you weren’t familiar with. Because let’s face it: oftentimes in a Kirby game, you’ll pick a favorite ability, make a beeline for it whenever it appears, and get extremely comfortable with the playstyle of that ability. For me, that ability is PURASUMAAAA- er, rather, Plasma. I can’t even remember how many times I’ve nuked all the bosses in the arena with plasma alone. So much fun. ^_ ^
@LanceOmikron
“Super Star” was pretty awesome to. (In fact, I even have the DS remake of it, which has more game modes, and the cinema scenes redone in CGI.)
I like it’s unique concept of being one big game made up of several smaller games that kinda tie together, and how each one has it’s own flavor, gimmick, or story.
@LanceOmikron
Yeah, KSS was shockingly replayable, though most of that replay value seemed to stem from experimenting with powers (well, that and making sure your dim-bulb AI buddies survived boss fights…yep, I’m that soft). Plus, that soundtrackon _RevengeofMetaKnight.
@Beau Skunky
Kirby’s Adventure is one of the first games that I ever beat. It was also the first game that really expanded my imagination (six-year-old me: “So this little guy can fly gain the power of whatever he eats? That’s so COOL!”)
My favorite Kirby Game, though, is Kirby Super Star. There are few games that I would call “perfect”, but Kirby Super Star is one of them. Like Super Mario World, it took a familiar concept and multiplied every single thing that was great about it. My favorite feature introduced in Super Star was that each individual ability had several different attacks.
@LanceOmikron
Y’know, I’m quite fond of the Kirby series to. I even have the “20th Anniversary” Wii compilation disc.
“Kirby’s Adventure” might be my favorite Kirby game.
@PonyPon
True, admittedly I prefer Mario to… Though, I feel Sonic needs love to. I feel kinda bad for the blue-blur with how much hate he gets on the internets nowadays. (I even liked a few of his “hated” games like “Sonic Heroes.”)
Yeah, yeah, I know there’s alot of drama over the “Sonic Boom” WiiU game, (apparently being as unfinished/glitchy as Sonic2006 was) “Sonic Cycle,” and blablabla… But he still makes some good games sometimes. I hear the 3DS version of “Boom” is decent, and at least the TV series is kinda amusing. (Eggman kinda steals the show.)
@suac @LanceOmikron
It’s funny how that’s not generating drama, as much as say the “SonicXRainbow Dash” ’ship, or some others bring.
Normally, people here freak-out over crossover ’ships.
@Background Pony #2615
Or any Mario & Luigi games for that matter.
looks like someone never played any of the paper mario games
Yep…assuming “perfect” means having the personality of a styrofoam cup.
I cannot deny that
Just for looks Rarity beats Peach, no contest. Although, Rarity is kinda bitchy at most stuff.
Peach, on the other hand, is like an almost perfect woman with super powers.
ok. after all, THIS Rarity is thousan times beter than peach
Eh, I always thought it seemed pretty common. What other objects will associate with a pony/horse?
A Saddle?
Riding Crop?
A Whip?
Would be funny, but too suggestive. XD
Yeah, a horseshoe would work better, wonder why I didn’t think of that.
Depending on a given scenario it’ll be base around, a Pony Suit power-up will be inevitable.
I was actually thinking more like Super/Magic Horseshoe as to askin to Cat Suit’s Super Bell.
Maybe he’ll get a “Pony Suit” by eating a magic cupcake he gets from ? blocks. :P
Its nothing new. Mario is simply being introduce to his “new” interspecies arm candy.
In hindsight, another regular day for Mario.
Did Peach dumped him or he was the one who dumped her?

I’ve always had a soft spot for crossovers, personally. Plus, Kirby and I go way back. He’s one of my best fictional friends.
