Yes, the character designer’s name is Nicole Gauss. She also created the ferrets, mice, birds, etc., but I think she was onto other jobs before the second season animals like the otter, seal, raccoon, etc. were created. I’m not sure about that last part though.

Well I’m not sure if their “perfect” for each other considering they never did anything more in the series than be next to eachother for good colors and eat together,never even saying a word to eachother…think of them how you will but labeling them perfect seems an exaggeration to me…also I’m sure the person who made them was the same staff member who made all the other Background ponies.

i wish this ship was canon..they are simply so perfect together.
 
but i do wonder sometimes, who created bonbon and lyra ?
