I haven’t actually seen the LoK finale, so I can’t really comment on it. From what I’ve heard the general consensus is that the final season had a crapton of homoerotic undertones, so it didn’t come completely out of left field, but it wasn’t clearly set up either, likely because they couldn’t do so.
But anyway, back to ponies. I think it would be great if they set up Lyra and Bon Bon constantly in the background so that if you point to any individual occasions, you could claim it as just friendship, but when you look at all of the moments, it becomes blatantly obvious that it’s a romantic thing.
I also just want to make clear that I have no problem with the LoK hookup, just that it felt more like an allusion to the TLA finale ending than a developed ship regardless of the creators preferences.
That’s what I thought. I knew that they supported the idea, but I didn’t think it had ever gone past some (admittedly very unsubtle) ship tease in the show itself.
Yeah, they have insinuated/stated such and I think it would’ve been more explicitly shown they were a thing than what it was because of certain countries having anti-gay laws.
I haven’t really been following AT’s latest season. I know the first five had a lot of subtext, but I didn’t think they ever made it explicit (though the people who write the show have insinuated that it’s the case).

I feel I should point out that Marceline/Bubblegum was canon and heavily implied through out the Adventure Time even before KorrAsami was a ship tease.
yes that was a totally cool thing they did, and made a lot of lgbt people happy as it was done so well. Super neat that happened.
A week ago I would’ve agreed with you, but after || Legend of Korra got away with basically making Korra/Asami canon in the finale || maybe it’s not so far-fetched. Still very unlikely, but no longer completely outside the realm of possibility.
Many consider it as 100% canon ship now.
Id say shipping because it could never be admitted they are in a lesbian relationship right now, but with things like mcdonalds supporting it i guess it may not be “never” but not soon. But how awesome would that be if they announced it as being official?
