Oh, sorry, thought maybe this was an alias and that you were the artist… S-sorry. :(
Also, “holly mistaken for mistletoe”? I didn’t know that was an actual tag.
The only similarity I have with the artist is that I have the same nationality. I couldn’t draw something half-way decent to save my life.
Hush up and use this to your advantage!… well, I’m assuming you’re the artist, but hell if I know.
Because very few artists are actually reading the comments on this site. I certainly can’t blame them.
If it’s literally impossible to not know about it, why does it keep appearing in art?
By now, it’s little more than smartassery because it always happens when a mistletoe/holly appears in a picture. Even when it’s done right. By now, everyone who doesn’t know it, doesn’t look at Christmas-themed pictures. Seriously, it’s literally impossible to not know about the mistletoe/holly-confusion, unless you don’t look at Christmas pictures on DB at all.
And it’s definitely smartassery, when it’s done in a sarcastic way.
Is it really smartassery if they’re right and it’s a prominant mistake with really no defense?
Why did I knew that comments like this will appear?
Oh right, because mistletoe/holly-smartassery is the grand Derpibooru Christmas tradition.

Common mistake; most artists and viewers mix them up, self included.
I thought the tradition was to kiss under mistletoe?
