It’s funny to, ’cause supposedly alot of bronies are Sonic fans to.
 
Still, there are a few “crossover” pics on the site that have managed to avoid the “Sonic curse,” and get plenty of upvotes, and hardly any drama.

Ctrl+V garbage deserves the fire, of course, but I remain fascinated by the seething hatred and unvarnished vitriol that any Sonic crossover prompts in this fandom.

It used to be like that, (though fanart was always fine on DA, as long as the person drew it themselves) but DA’s got more lax on that in recent years… “To lax” according to some people, as some members of DA putting in images like this they “edited” (but didn’t draw/make at all) and passing it off as art in their galleries…
 
Heck, a few of my drawings have been stolen on DA before, but the DA admins dealt with the art-thieves.

So, some random troll can report any fanart (character is copyrighted, duh) or fanart drawn on screencap background, and it will be deleted and account disactivated? That’s stupid.

Ironically, DeviantArt used to (and actually still does) forbid copy-and-paste “artwork” of copyritten images. They used to be more strict about it years ago, they would delete any images that had anything copied off a random google image.  
Like Some artists even got images deleted if they so much as used a video game screenshot as a background for a drawing of say a Mario enemy/character.
 
The problem is, so many kids do it on DA, (and pass it off as “art”) and most people on DA overlook, ignore, or don’t report it, or are aware it’s against their copyright policies, that DA lately has had a surge of that kind of pseudo-copy-and-paste art lately unfortunately.
 
Still, DA has more “actually-drawn” images then fake ones regardless.

Sometimes one thinks of all the artists who struggle to get better by actually drawing.
 
And then there’s fuckers who just think they’re cool because they copy and paste two things together.
