As you walked to the stream near the edge of the Everfree Forest, the little thing had curled up in your palm and, not even five minutes later, had fallen asleep. You remembered what she said about predators and wanting a safe place to sleep, and couldn’t bring yourself to abandon her in the water unprotected as she slept. You didn’t even have the heart to wake her after what she had gone through last night.
You leaned against a tree and slid down to sit in the shade, being careful not to jostle her from her sleep. You briefly considered dipping her in the water, but decided against it as she didn’t seem to need to keep wet. Instead you let your cupped hands rest in your lap and looked out over the water, letting your mind wander and wondering how many fish you would see jump until she awakened.

Also, I get the feeling that her vulnerability hasn’t been showcased enough yet… But she’d be SO easy to hurt, it’s almost worthy of pity in and of itself. Small size, goal-oriented… It’s rather terrifying.

I want her to get a little turtle tank home with one of those heated rocks to feel all warm. And a little staircase so she can leave and enter it whenever she wants.
Remember she made her way into his house once. Even if he does let her go she might always find a way back in again…

I like that idea. Imagine her actively advertising herself as this. But badly, for sake of comedy:

She’s a parasitic river creature based on Irish mythology. The difference is, of course, the one in Irish mythology was actually deadly (you got no nutrition whatsoever as long as it was in you and you’d ultimately starve to death) and, you know, not a pony.

I have no idea what this story is or anything but this is adorable
It would make for a quick buck.
Rent her out to silly ladies trying to lose weight for a couple weeks at a time for an inordinate sum of bits, then when you’ve thoroughly pissed off a town of fat people for having them eat a living creature, you go on to the next town.
from the size of her i would say she would eat like what, a tablespoon or 2 of food every so many hours? it would add up to very little extra.
Well, you would have to eat slightly more to support her diet as well as your own.
Or not. Hmmm. Something something Alp-Luachra weight loss system.
well i would not mind having her in me, she is non harmful in anyway and protects against stuff which is a win win.
In a nice, spacious freshwater fishtank.
And occasionally his stomach whenever she manages to sneak/coax her way in.
I exactly know how he would eventually keep this… thing :^)
i hope he keeps her somehow.
