The only real fan site I visited when i first became a brony was Ponibooru and even now derpibooru is one of the few.
 
It was always so broken but the comments almost always managed to give me a smile so there is that. And now with a site that isn’t broke I can finally see it all :D

I laughed way harder than I should have

You had your faults and hickups, but damn, if I didn’t have fun and my first (mostly positive)experience in an imageboard.  
I’ll miss ya.  

Takashi: The reason why I have mostly “good” memories is because I actively avoided the crap. We had our shitstorms, but I mostly did not participate in them (sometimes I did). The last few months were quite bad, but the time between May 2011 and late 2011 wasn’t bad. In the last months, my filter list grew bigger and bigger almost daily. I don’t know how much longer this could have kept going if Eco hadn’t pulled the plug.
 
I also try to focus on the good things, while ignoring the bad things. This is often hard and I admit losing my nerves every now and then.
 
But yes, I mostly have good memories of Ponibooru. I recently removed all PB bookmarks, Greasemonkey extensions and the history entries related to it, and it was hard.
 
I hope that makes sense.

That we did. Ponibooru was pretty much the first place I found after joining the herd, and although it had (some kinda big) problems, it was an interesting place.

And Hoers is right on.
 
Let’s not kid ourselves: Ponibooru was fucking garbage. But we had some good times, didn’t we?

I went there for nearly ever picture that was pony related. It rarely loaded straight, except toward the end. Y’know, kinda like a crazed lunatic friend who you like so much that you spend time around even though he wastes a lot of your time. And then on his death bed, he finally gains clarity and realizes how much he’s made you live through. And then he goes out with a smile.

V I wish that I shared your good memories.
 
The only real thing I consider “good” about the comments were the Youtube Captions and Dance parties.

Yeah, that place did suck a little. Most of my memories of that place are good, though. Rest in peace.

A shitty home that was still our home and we had formed our great family and memories there.  
Don’t ever forget that.

Ponibooru was like a dirty-ass sandbox that cats shit in. But you were there in good company and you had a great time whenever it wasn’t closed down due to there being broken glass in it.

pretty much what hoers said. the community was amazing. and yeah you could bearly type a message or favorite anything with out seeing a error message. but the place had oodles of charm, it was a place we built in our image. and while i still rememeber the charm of the old house, the new house gives us room to grow
