i went trought the oldest 11 pages of “derpy, animated” tag search nd didnt find it. my conection is getting slow, not gona look trought the other 9 pages

Yeah, the only thing that bothers me about this image is that it’s caused my affection for “The Daily Derp” to just about vanish. EFN has done its share of stupid and/or petty things over the past few years, but dragging Derpy into a fandom squabble like this is just as petty.

EFN = Everfree Network. They were one of the first brony media websites, hosting livestreams, podcasts, staff interviews, video reviews, and the Everfree Radio streaming radio station, which has since moved to Canterlot Hill. 4chan hated them– because 4chan is full of shitheads who hate anything in the fandom that tries to maintain a positive attitude (see their attitude towards Equestria Daily for another example)– which is why you see so much hate thrown around at EFN. One of their founders, Mike “Final Draft” Bernstein, was a particular target of 4chan and their pet The Onion ripoff HorseNews; after FD was kicked out of Babscon (which is closely aligned with HN) for unexplained reasons and HN started the shitty rumor that it was because he had harassed Ashleigh Ball– something she and fellow documentary producer Brent Hodge deny he held a grudge and got HN kicked out of Bronycon (which was closely aligned with EFN) for bullshit reasons after HN actually tried to do something decent for a change regarding a completely unrelated incident.
 
TL;DR: a bunch of petty fandom bullshit happened and then Everfree Network closed up shop, and this image is a HorseNews supporter being petty about it.

Whenever somebody calls me wrong and shows evidence supporting their point and said evidence is actually valid, I tend to not completely foam at the mouth because at least they had something to back their point up.

Probably ‘cause they usually get the “not-so-good” kind of Sonic fanart. I don’t think they’re completely against crossover/referencial fanart though, as they did feature “Majora’s Mask”-related pony fanart, and such before.
