Stern professors don’t put you in explicit danger over and over and over again, yo. Sure, he still wasn’t a true villain, but that comparison is WAY off.
lcruz

I believe he was a defacto villain in the beginning since he did very questionable thing like kidnaping peoples to put them in a trial, put them in danger (and so being responsible for the death of some of them) just to teach them a lesson of “humillity” and how dangerous is the universe, and torturing some other species like the Calamarain. I’m not sure how evil he really was then, but he was a really dangerous being at best.

Then he become more sympathetic and a little more noble. However i wonder if that was planned from the beginning or the writers changed his role. As a result we ended with a character that is presented later as a funny Trickster Mentor to the protagonist, but who still was a torturer and maybe even a murderer.

I have mixed feelings toward Q. At last Discord, by comparison, was treated more as a villain: Turned into stone, feared as a menace, etc. Discord had to be reformed before become a friend of the main cast.

If Discord ever met SFDebris!Janeway, he would see the face of true disharmony. An eternal state of unrest and unhappiness, is just Tuesday afternoon for her.

Funny i think it was the only Q “shipping episode” in voyager and somehow Meghan come up with similar dialogue as from that episode. Also kind of similar situation and Q/Discord being at fault

what you might have seen was two humaniods pressing fingers together, but in the other eleven dimensions those two were getting it on in all kinds of glorious, cosmic, incomprehensible to our puny human minds, kinky etherial energy being bow-chika-wow-wow ways. XP

From what I remember, he didn’t actually make a son with Janeway. He asked her to mate with him since he thought the Q needed new blood but he ended up hooking up with another member of the Q. Their ‘sex’ was just them poking their pointer fingers together.

Janeway: Is that it?
Q: Sorry you missed out on it?

Most of that stuff happened in Next Gen. Though Q is good by the time Janeway meets him voyager re-cons him as still an inconsiderate child though. I remember he once made a Q son with Janeway and just kinda dumped him on her, and he was wrecking up the galaxy until Janeway teaches him the magic of friendship too. Only took one episode!

Hey remember when they tried to redeem Q? So he lost his powers and learned a lesson to get ‘em back? Then it turned out it didn’t really work and some serious shizte went down? And only after the serious stuff went down did he truly understood the meaning of friendshi– uh, I mean human nature. Understood the meaning of human nature.
