True ‘nuff if we were dealing with strictly mortal manufacturing methods. For all we know here, it’s enchanted for quintuple the normal range, shoots magic heat-seeking buckshot, et. al.
Not TOO early when she naturally walks around with the shotgun… a rifle would’ve made more sense when Spike boarded, as one can assume she keeps the rifle around in case of an attack, but a shotgun? That’s “Okay, we were completely blindsided AND they already boarded, AND there’s a lot of them lined up!”
Have we gotten a look at their ship’s armory yet? Seems a bit early to rule out long-distance skills for a handypone like the Jack.
But, AJ was very accurate with that shotty. xP
She doesn’t own a rifle; just a 12-gauge.
… Come to think of it, that’s pretty stupid of a pirate to have a shotgun when no one ever boards…
Sheesh, we’ve been bouncing enough hypotheticals around I forgot we were talking this particular ship & scenario (i.e. nopone boarding the target to back RD up). Just frickin’ swap out “12-gauge” with “anti-materiel rifle”.
They are on a separate ship, she has a SHOTGUN.
… I’ll let you consider another way to end that.
Fine: somepone freaks, throws their empty gun, and for once it works. Which leaves ’em double-taking long enough for AJ to 12-gauge ’em a new waistline.
Yeah, but the lifeboat-oars are usually attached to the lifeboats as a means of making sure no one loses them… so that wouldn’t work well, either.
Er, lifeboats? Sometimes those aren’t self-propelled.
That ship’s massive and likely propeller-moved. There won’t be oars to hit her WITH!
Also, I love the emphasis-lines on the “boot-knife” panel, like it’s a major plot-point.
Other things with emphasis lines: When Spike got shot in the head, Rarity’s boot.
main artist of this comic can’t spend more time in this comic, sadly there are not enough patreons yet to get pages done fastly, and she has to spend her time working in doing commissions and other stuff in order to survive. Trust me, she’d work full time in this project but that way, who’d pay her bills? :’D life is sad.

Well if there’s a turret, she’ll just fly around the ship to make it spin in a tornado: That’s how it always works with Rainbow Dash.
Plus, at least she started with pistols-it was mainly a matter of running outta ammo before attackers.

Unless you (a) brought a CIWS turret to the party or (b) some hotshot hit-unicorn with a specialty in forcefields for Revbow to THWACK against. Can’t imagine who fits that bill & might be stooging for the solar crown.
Well considering she can fly around at supersonic speeds and use rushing slashes, challenging her skills would be foolish.

Well, I mean of course Spike would be still alive from that. Mostly, that is. XD But, I did doubt you would see him die at such a early time of this series. Like certain peeps who thought he would perish like Twi did.
Indeed, that’s actually kinda refreshing sense she was kinda a biotch to him in this fan-series. ;)
He is a dragon, so it’s possible the bullet didn’t fully penetrate his skull. Dragons probably have stronger bones then pony people.
It’s a totally badass anime, the first one I ever watched in my life! It was thanks to this comic that I watched the anime!
