When I posted it on the single image of the Chryssy cover, there was a bit of concern there. Given that DB mods work to keep “safe” images safe, I took caution here.
Origin wise yeah they’re tied. But its not like we get to actually see them terrorize the place.
Whereas we do with the other 4 villains on the list.

Bravo I say. It’s not everyday a cartoon about colorful talking animals gives a shout out to the Borgias family.
Sirens one was the only one not related to the borgias, but seeing as how they aren’t really tied to equestria as much as they are the human world, it works.
Someone had already noted the Cesare picture for Tirek, and realizing he was a Borgia - a name that within AC2 were the tyrants to fight again, followed on that to discover the other paintings.
And how did AC2 come to your mind to begin with? Haha XD
Actually, some of that came from looking into the history that Assassins Creed II was based on, and recognizing the Borgia name being common here, which allowed me to narrow up on the other paintings once I had that. :)

For the three “meanies” (Sombra, Tirek, and Chyssy) yes. Also I’m looking at the hard profile edge (rare actually for portraits, most which were 3/4rd view instead) and the choice of text font , which was a common element of that series of paintings. (I’ve tossed Amy a tweet to see if these are all correct)
So you think Amy took deep inspiration by the Borgia family, and chose paintings about them?
This sounds more convincing than the folds thing.
Also when looking at #1, looking at how the robe folds look - and considering the painting is the father of the two that Tirek and Chryssy’s versions are based on, I’m pretty confident this is the base work.
The last with Sirens I’m sure. Look at the positions of the arms of the three figures The Charities/Graces that are mid left and the dresses they wear. Even the BG tree elements are used there but made into kelp or seaweed in the BG.
