Yeah, I like how they showed you can do things like chose what comes out of the canons, and give enemies wings. (Even ones who normally can’t have those.)
They haven’t said if you can compose your own music in “Mario Maker,” but we’ll see. I think it’s going to focus on stage-making, and such for the most part, but I am curious if there will be more to it then that.
And yeah, Undo-dog is kinda cool. Nice the game has some nods to “Mario Paint.”
Hmmm….I just took a second look at the Mario Maker Award video. There are no bosses revealed, but customizing enemies and items is a huge feature in the game. Nintendo didn’t spoil all the goods unless those 30 minute long “Nintendo Treehouse” videos may say otherwise, but I haven’t gotten into looking at those yet.
If push comes to shove I’ll settle for creating a mini boss rush containing elite enemies; Sledge Bros., Lakitu, Fire Bros, etc.
I once looked into reading about Mario Paint. Personally I thought the Undo Dog was kinda charming. It just seems…cool. Now that I think about it, you know how on YouTube there’s over a hundred different Mario Paint videos and customized stages design specifically to recreate OST’s of any theme songs? Maybe everyone can do that with Mario Maker!
A “boss rush” level would be cool, though, I’m not going to count on bosses, and such, (as you can’t really customize bosses, but you can build their arenas/rooms, I suppose) but you never know.
Funny thing is, I hear “Mario Maker” was at first going to be a new “Mario Paint” game originally. (It even has the “Undodog.”)
Possibly. I never had much interest in Hasbro’s toy products.
Flying Squirrel was pretty cool. I think they might limit the amount of flying power-ups for fanfavorites from the golden ages.
I doubt Nintendo wouldn’t include the bosses (hopefully). If its possible, I’m so going to customized a boss rush level.
Wasn’t “Luchador mask Shimmer” her original toy?
And yeah, I hope the items carry over to the other styles to. Sense they have a NewSMBU style, that probably means they might have the flying squirrel suit. (Which works differently from the “Raccoon” & “Cape” powers.)
Wonder if the game will also feature boss battles. (Like say Bowser encounters, Boom-Boom, Reznor, or the Koopalings.) Like at the end of castle/doomship levels. (I hope they offer “doomship” levels.)
Yeah that’s exactly what I’m saying about the devs putting all their time and effort into creating this. If a Blooper is going to have the spirte style of SMW than all other enemies, stage graphics, and power-ups are going to switch over to those styles. Its one of the anticipated reasons why I want to know what design the Hammer Suit would look like in 2.5-D. If I’m correct there’s going to be 4 graphic styles; SMB1, SMB3, SMW, and NewSMB.
On a completely different topic, I just notice the luchador mask wearing Sunset Shimmers. That’s adorable and funny.
No I think he said it somewhere else, I’m not sure.
Yeah, the Hammer suit, and such would be cool to have to. I’m also curious if you can use the raccoon suit in the other graphic styles to. (After all, they have new blooper SMW sprites, and such as I said.)
Oh yeah, I remember seeing that video on YouTube. I don’t recall Miyamoto making an appearance (sense I only watched it once). Was that on a documented Iwata Ask on Nintendo’s website?
I have no doubt that Miyamoto and the Dev team will put every ounce of effort to ensure Mario Maker will be their latest and greatest custom build game. The only thing I hope for is that they’ll at least grant the wishes of fan services in this game. For me, I hope the Hammer Suit makes a return.
@SuperDEF
Yeah, would be cool, and “Mario Maker” does need more attention. Ever sense I played “Excitebike’s” custom level feature as a kid, I’ve always wanted them to do something similar with Mario.
Miyamoto did hint they might have graphic themes based on other games. I’m curious if they’ll have something like say a “Zelda 2: Adventure of Link” graphic style, which would be kinda cool to.
They did reveal recently they have SMB3 & SMWorld graphic styles planned. (Even a new blooper sprite for SMW, and such, seeing how that game didn’t have blooper squids.) One video showed SMB3 Mario using the raccoon suit so it looks like the super leaf (and probably cape to) is in.
Sorry, I meant my latest replied to Beau.
While I’m on that subject, you are right how there isn’t any hype about Mario Maker. I was expecting a TV meme or something…
I was originally going to suggest the “red amiibos” will feature them as playable characters, but than I had an after thought that perhaps our Miis will (if they are presented in the game) have their skin costume and hair. Bonus content like you said would be nice, like Donkey Kong theme backgrounds or items, Rosalina’s galaxy theme, Wario Land skin enemies).
I just have the 3DS version so I can’t do that… Yet… (They’re supposedly going to update the 3DS version with that feature to.)
I would like to get Fox McCloud, Meta Knight, and Ness to. Maybe Sonic, Megaman, Mario, and Pac Man, so I can have the “kings of retro-gaming” to.
I’m curious how Mr. G&W will look however. Also, sense “Duck Hunt” was my first video game I ever played as a child, you can bet I’m getting that one if they make one. (They revealed they are making ones of other hidden characters like Ness, Lucina, & Wario.)
@SuperDEF
That would be cool, but curious what they could do with them. (Maybe save levels on them, or something, or use them to unlock content.) I’m actually looking forward to “Mario Maker,” nice to see somebody else is to, sense I don’t see much hype, or discussion over it.
And yeah raising digital things like that is oddly amusing.
I’m hoping amiibos will be compatible with the new Mario Marker. Nintendo should do that.
@Red-Supernova
I like the idea that your raised fighter is its own CPU and capable to become better with progress. Its like those old Tamagotchi, only RPG style.
Same here. But I get enjoyment out of raising them to become powerful fighters.
Would you be surprised if I said that I currently own all the Amiibos you listed? I recently bought Diddy Kong and Pikachu.
Yeah, I almost don’t care about the “unlockable” features with them, as a Nintendo/SSB-enthusiast I wouldn’t mind having a few myself just to have.
I saw some at my local store the other day. (Mario, Luigi, Kirby, Pikachu, DK, and Diddy. I thought about getting Diddy, ‘cause DKC2 “Diddy’s Kong Quest” was my fav’ DKC game. Plus I like his “Nintendo” logo hat.)
These amiibos are sounding more and more tempting to buy. Its not about the games anymore, it feels like you have to collect them all jusr for bragging rights.
