Alternate title: “Drawn together; full of song.”

So apparently :iconsibsy: and :iconmandopony: got engaged recently http://mandofire.tumblr.com/post/108947090033/a-thing-happened For those of you who don’t know, Sibsy is one of the senior storyboard artists working on My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, and Mando is fellow fan of MLP:FIM and musician who makes a lot of songs based on the show.

I’ve mentioned this before here, but one thing that I like about MLP:FIM (besides the show itself) is the relationship the fandom and the production team have with each other. The fans appreciate the show and they show it by making fan-made art, stories, etc.; the production team appreciates this and takes the fandom into consideration while making the show; which the fans then appreciate. This helps keep things entertaining and to motivate the writers, animators, and directors to experiment and push past stigmas and conventions normally associated with the franchise.

Normally, the typical symbol of this relationship I would give is the character Derpy (aka Ditzy Doo or Derpy Hooves) and her inclusion in various episodes of the show. However, Sibsy’s and Mando’s relationship is another good example of how this fan-professional interaction can be constructive, not in a professional way but in a personal way instead. It’s a good demonstration of MLP:FIM’s theme of friendship, love, and collaboration. So both as a commemoration of their relationship and as an early Valentine’s Day thing, I made this quick sketch =)
