People have long debated what role Twilight and Spike have together? Is she like a sister or a mother to him? I always leaned to the motherly role myself.

That just fuels my headcanon that Spike is actually the result of one of Twilight’s drunken nights over at the dragon dorm in Celestia’s school and the whole egg-hatching story was just made up because she didn’t want to tell a tale of debauchery, smoke-damaged drapery, and blaring Alice Cooper songs to the little fillies.
