Annie: So where’re we going, Amber?
Amber: Nowhere crazy. Just a relaxing little place
Annie: Relaxing?
Amber: Yeah. I’m just a bit stressed
Annie: And you’re not going to a party?
Amber: Nah, I’m past that stuff. That doesn’t really help me much
Annie: It doesn’t?
Amber: Not really. They’re fun in the moment but that’s about it. I’d rather just talk. I’ve found that talking to you really calms me down
Annie: Really?
Amber: Mmhm. Here, sit. sits down
Annie: sits with Amber So what do you wanna talk about
Amber: I dunno. Anything? How’s life with Fluttershy? She treating you well?
Annie: Oh yeah! For sure. Mom’s the best. She takes great care of me, she loves me, she teaches me new things. She…. yeah…. she’s great
Amber: That’s good. And how about Turquoise?
Annie: Same thing pretty much. He’s so loving and sweet.
Amber: What’s it like?
Annie: What do you mean?
Amber: To be loved?
Annie: Well, it’s amazing. What else could it be? You know that though
Amber: I was just wondering if love like the kind you experience is different from mine
Annie: Well, how would it probably be different?
Amber: I…. I’ve never really had motherly love or romantic love. I know you and Hot Head and Lucky love me. And I love you guys too. It’s just that…….. you love me like a sister or a mother.
Annie: ……….. Hmmmm….. well, I guess it would be different
Amber: I think so. Like when you and Turquoise look at each other, it just seems so special. And you look so happy when you’re together.
Annie: Mmhmm….
Amber: I’m jealous of you and Turquoise, Annie. I want to be held the way he holds you and hugged the way he hugs you and…. yeah. It’s too late for me to have parents but…. I’d really like to have the kind of love you have.
Annie: Well, why don’t you…. get it? You’re really pretty and nice and smart.
Amber: But I don’t understand love. I’ve dated plenty guys but they don’t love me for real. I don’t feel anything. I just… I just don’t get how you know.
Annie: You don’t really just….. know. It takes time.
Amber: I suppose
Annie: Are there any guys you like? wiggles eyebrows
Amber: I don’t know
Annie: C’mon, I’m sure you’re checking someone out
Amber: There’s this one guy……
Annie: gasps Who?
Amber: No one you know. Just some ex-guard I met while ago while I was training to be a nurse in the guard.
Annie: Does he like yoooooouu?
Amber: Annie, I’ve told you I don’t know.
Annie: Well does he talk to you?
Amber: Yeah. He stops by every once in a while and we talk. I don’t think he like likes me though. We’ve never kissed or anything
Annie: giggles Amber, just because a guy doesn’t kiss you doesn’t mean he doesn’t have feelings for you. T and I dated for around a month before he got the guts to actually kiss me on the lips
Amber: A month???
Annie: Yeah! Crazy right? He might be a rare case but that goes to show that he loves me for more than what I look like. He loves me enough to respect me
Amber: Hmmm…
Annie: Just take it slow.
Amber: I mean I guess…. Does that really work?
Annie: For sure. It means he’s commited to you
Amber: Tch
Annie: What?
Amber: I dunno. It’s……. it’s just hard to fathom that someone could stay commited to me like that.
Annie: Oh, Amber…..
Amber: Yeah, I know. Orphan with trust issues. Shocker. It just….. really is hard. I’ve been let down a lot. I can’t help it.
Annie: Amber, not everyone is untrustworthy
Amber: I know Annie. But trust is a hard thing to gain. I feel like the only ones I can trust are you, Hot Head and Lucky. I want to trust others more which is why I just threw myself at guys before. Didn’t help. I thought if I forced myself to trust them, something would happen.
Annie: Well, both trust and love take time. It seems like whoever this guy you’re talking about really cares about you since he’s stuck around since your time in the guard
Amber: I suppose so
Annie: hugs Amber Don’t worry. You’ll find love someday. I promise
