Totally forgot about those cues, though I’m pretty sure it stops there-among other considerations, EG!Rarity’s personal history well & truly diverges from her Equestrian counterpart, and she probably just figured “talking dog wants scritchies? Why not.” Spike also seemed a lot less flirty in the sequel, so perhaps he figured out the “different world, different person” factor.
No problem. I’m pretty sure the ‘how’ is because the first thing Spike said when his cover was blown was giving bedroom eyes toward Rarity, and then 30 seconds later asking for a scratch behind the ears from human Rarity. Not to mention his ‘oh yeeeeeeah’ comment when human rarity finally did cuddle with him.

One teensy quibble: not sure how EG-verse Rarity would know anything about Spike’s crushes back in Equestria. I’m also pretty sure Pup!Spike didn’t extend said crush to Human!Rares, mainly ‘cause (a) the whole native-to-different-planes thing, and (b) EG peeps have a lot less context for that sort of thing due to their world’s lack of other sapient races. That noted, he seemed admirably chill about the whole dog-morphing thing in EG2.
Spike’s pairing pics are labeled as foalcon because he looks like a kid. In imageboards, you tag what you see since they’re used by people to find what they’re looking for. That doesn’t mean anything for this argument. If you type “snowflake” you’re still gonna find countless pics of Bulk Biceps. Is that his name? No. But that doesn’t matter because tons of people knew him by that name before his official one was revealed, so they find him easier that way.
Not to mention the obvious fact that this is because tons of shipping pics use screens from the show itself, in which Spike looks like a kid. Its also easier for artists to draw the Spike they’ve seen countless times instead of coming up with an hypothetical older Spike (most people don’t consider SomE his actual adult form).
I was very clear on how the fact that since there’s basically no limit what they can do with magic and/or Spike’s nature/species, they have many ways to deal with the controversial aspect of their age gap by using mechanincs in the show itself. Say, for example (and Im just going of the top of my mind here), they travel back in time during the serie’s finale and Spike stays in the past for some reason, and when they arrive to their time, an older Spike greets them. Time goes by so we can see what everyone’s been up to, and surpise, adult Spike and Rarity are dating.
Just a random thought. Or is that too “HARDCORE” for the target demographic that has CLEARLY not been their only focus for a long time as well? Does it offend sensibilities in some way? I don’t remember parents gasping, shouting and complaining how Shrek’s Donkey marrying that Dragoness would destroy their kid’s minds. Its a goddamn cartoon about magical talking horses living together with countless other magical, talking creatures. If they deal with the age thing (which they can easily do), that’s it. That’s it. Crisis averted and one more fun/cute/whatever moment for the ending and a substantial part of the fandom. You being set in STONE that it can’t happen because you don’t see it happening its not a point to support your self-entitled argument about how you know “for sure” what’ll happen.

We don’t know if you’re winking slyly when you post. the fact that you started this whole thing by crowing about “ha ha, he he, too bad for those haters who have different opinions than me, loool” following two other Sparity comments just seals the deal. BS. Again, all I did was point out how the comic looked like it was taking a shot at Sparity haters. I never picked any clear sides until you decided to post JUST to act all high and mighy and pretend you know what it’ll happen.

They already introduced the concept of romantic love with Hearts and Hooves Day and Canterlot Wedding. They never went too far with it, and there is 0 reason why they should here if they decide to make Spike & Rarity and item during the finale. That’s just you forcing that concept as a way to make it seem less likely than it actually is. They could very well have an adult Spike & Rarity having a picnic with a small heart in the background and that’s it. Or would that be again too much? I suppose they holding hooves/claws/whatever would be considered late night material for you then?
The fact that it is a one sided crush and that Rarity’s canon feelings are largely suppressed in favor of Spike “getting what he wants/earns” is entirely aside from the point, since many shows DO in fact pursue all sorts of relationships among characters, but it depends on the story they’re telling.
Wut? So now your point is that since one of them hasn’t expressed the same romantic feelings for the other, then it will never happen? What kind of point is this? There’s TONS of stories where only one party shows romantic feelings during most of the story and the other one only responds to them by the end. Rarity obviously doesn’t dislike Spike. And we’ve seen ponies treat other sentient creatures the same way they treat other ponies. So she eventually developing feelings for him after he’s grown up wouldn’t be as crazy as you’d like to believe.

Except not. You can’t with no degree of accuracy. This is you just being too close-minded because as things look right now, it wouldn’t be appropiate. Which no one disagrees with. But your whole argument spins around the fact that you “know” things will never change (despite there having been many great changes the fandom didn’t expect already), which what creates the irony when you claim its other people who insist “its their way or nothing”.

Except that line of logic is incredibly inane and short-sighted. Spike has an established attitude of a pre-teen at least, and its already been established he’s approaching his teens. Such a case has NEVER been established for CMC or any of their same age friends. Neither have they established a two way connection at any point in time with a true child and a true adult in the show or comics, while in Secret of my Excess and the Nightmarity arc, in neither case is it shut down as simply one-sided between Rarity and Spike. Neither confirmed NOR denied.
(In fact they danced around the issue of his age by turning him into a dog in EG. The very fact Human Rarity was cuddling with a sentient being who’s a dog but she knows is sexually attracted to her is odd enough, but MLP is hardly a show for predictable conformity.)

This is again you stating your opinion is a foregone conclusion and that anyone not thinking from your perspective is either kidding or delusional. The fact that you cannot grasp how small-minded this line of thinking of yours is unbelievable…if not for the fact that being close minded in the first place prevents you from ever looking from ever grasping any modicum of perspective and ability to look at things from a different angle.
…In fact, if your going to reply back at all, at least be able to understand this concept by that time, as you have been incapable of it until now. And that would be…what exactly? The same guys who drew Vice-Principal Luna drawing hearts while looking at a bunch of seemingly teenage girls? The target demographic has always been wide, from things kids can understand to Discord’s doubt-inducing mind games to DBZ fighting sequences.

Except in the opinion of Sparity, your ‘98%’ means absolutely nothing to any of us. It is simply your viewpoint, not ours, and its a close-minded and more then mildly arrogant at that. If anything, your insistence that your narrow perspective on it, without open-minded analysis to back it up, makes you less and less credible by the second.

See, this is the kind of thing that kinda breaks your whole point.
I don’t ship Sparity. If I gave that impression, that’s my fault, but I don’t think I ever stated I shipped them so the fact that you automatically needed to assume I did to try and gain any moral standing (shotakon, real mature there…shows the kind of person you are by assuming that, while lots of actual Sparity shippers actually age Spike up before pairing him Rarity) is what makes you seem like the desperate one while replying to my original comment.
I was just stating what this page implied for one of the most heated debates in the fandom and poked fun at said haters because the race thing has always been one of their biggest points of focus. The fact that you reacted badly to it just proves that you belong to the group I was reffering to, since you simply couldn’t pass up what was just that.

This is magical world of mystical creatures, insane magical events and happy endings. Saying something like Sparity will never happen because you don’t see it happening, its what makes you seem like the “high and mighty” who pretends to know what they can or cannot do just because you cannot thing outside the box and see that they CAN deal with the controvertial side of this ship.
I don’t mind this pairing. I don’t ship it, but I also know they can build on it as easily as they can scrap it.

Because there’s no Sparity to even fire at. Just Sparity-lovers making things up and the show itself repeatedly poking fun at a one-sided puppy-love crush that is in no way romantically reciprocated. The day we see Rarity fantasizing about dragons like we’ve seen her fantasize about stallions then maybe. But we’re not there and I doubt we ever will be. Unless you think: to hell with her tastes, he wants her and he deserves her? No, I certainly hope not.
You clearly believe one thing, which is fine, since this entire thing is fictional, but don’t act to high and mighty that there are so many others who don’t share your headcanon. I, for one, only mind the Sparity-obsessed when they proselytize. Not everyone is interested in that sort of thing.

Also, not every Sparity hater focuses solely on the age difference (which is really the only problem) but on the fact that they’re different races, despite both belonging to sapient, intelligent races. A substantial part of their argument that draws its source from pony master race bs.
About the comics canonicity, people take what they want as canon and what they dont they ignore.
No sense in discussing that since most things are considered canon unless they directly contradict the show.
Sparity being currently impossible due to age difference is obvious. You don’t have to get touchy about the object of your hatred gaining some points in a random comic page, but going as far as pretending you know its impossible its childish. They can do whatever the hell they want, so if they want the last season’s finale to involve time-traveling, rapid magical dragon maturing or any other plot device they want, then they can have an older Spike they can pair with Rarity for a “everyone’s happy” ending.
It is really that simple when the setting is fantasy world where pretty much everything can happen by explaining it with “magic”, leaving all those “lol I guarantee it won’t happen” crybabies either too embarassed to post or hate.
I doubt anyone is too worried about an off-line in a quasi-canon comic.
You’ll never see Sparity confirmed, ever. That’s a guarantee. Simply because any editor worth his salt will see it, go “lol no, that’s pedo dude” and axe it. You’ll see a random lesbian couple confirmed before you see that shotakon you want.
This ain’t Japan where age of consent is like 13.

Fun Fact 2: A Zilant is a really confused bastard of a creature. It doesn’t know if its a half dragon or not, and it doesn’t know if its a Mongolian, Turkish, or Russian. In a nutshell, a zilant is the bastard child of a Eastern Dragon and a Western Wyvern. Legends of them started to appear after the Mongols occupied the Turkish city of Tatar in Russia, and prior to that, if that makes any sense. It was originally considered a giant serpent with wings, not that that clarifies things. Being half wyvern, which are usually not considered dragons but lesser dragons, I guess Twilight is sort of accurate calling it a half dragon.
Maybe she could still visit pony dreams? She was “Nightmare” Moon, after all.
