Because Lightning Dust is so Season 3 and Hasbro has made this new doll they want to show in the movie so that more people might buy it. But I really don’t mind as long as the new girls are as interesting as the Dazzlings.
I get what you mean, but I irrationally feel that Sunny is Pinkie’s foil. :/
Human twilight’s personality might be different from pony twilight though, we can’t be sure at this point. She is with the antagonists after all, even if they aren’t truly “evil”.
I just can’t seem them having a character who name is almost directly referencing another character’s name and not think they intend for their to be a significant character interaction of some sort.
Wouldn’t you think Human Twilight is a parallel to Sunset?
I think they’re trying to set up the shadowbolts to somewhat paralell the Human five in the movie. Indigo zap looks to be set up to be a foil to dash (Though why they basically made “Lightning dust 2.0 instead of just using LD is beyond me), and Sunny flare will probably come into conflict with Sunset shimmer.
XD At least Sunny’s eyes are more of a pinkish color than purple! :P
Joke in the movie:
Pinkie: “Sunny, go that that plot device!”
Sunny: “…”
Sunset: “Which Sunny?”
Pinkie: “Duh! You, Sunny!”
Sunny/Sunset: “I don’t get it…”
