Something new for you all :)
This isn’t an Alp-Luachra, but a variant that has evolved to live in the salt-filled oceans. I call them Alp-Aigéan. That name probably makes no sense to anyone versed in biology, but whatever.
They are far larger than Alps, with the largest coming to five feet in length, while Alp-Luachra usually have a maximum of one and a half feet. Like Alps, Aigéan are parasitic, and will enter the bowels of large sea creatures to eat what their hosts eat.
Aside from their size, something that makes them far more dangerous to land mammals is their big appetite. When inside a pony, for example, Aigéan will end up eating everything that enters its host’s system. When entering a host, some will venture past the cramped stomach and into the start of the intestinal tract. Removal often requires surgery.
These are just some of the reasons why the Aigéan is an extremely dangerous creature, but there’s more. Unlike Alp-Luachra, Alp-Aigéan are barely sentient and cannot be reasoned or bargained with. They do not build little societies and they never travel in groups.

Alright then. Two votes against one has won me over, and that’s a good point, BP. Still gonna try and finish that crossover sketch I’m doing though.
You need to be careful that you don’t over complicate the little beasties I think their biology is weird enough as is
In all honesty I can’t say I’m a fan of it. It reminds me too much of those creepy little worm things from Oddworld that drove me mental when trying to play that game.

Btw, what do you think of Alp-Luachra having a web string that they use to reach high places (such as a mouth) quickly? The pair of strings would come out of little slits in the sides of their gums, while the strings themselves would be saliva modified to be sticky.

That would still be quite an exhilarating girth to watch them handle, though.

Just shy of 2¾ inches at his fattest portion (the chest). That’s nothing a pone or GMHAA couldn’t handle ;)
That’s assuming you survived it going in, unless it’s a baby it’s probably going to rupture your stomach given that according to the description these suckers get to be 5ft long
Thanks for the research on that. I thought I’d already searched translations of “Alp-Luachra” to little result. Alp-Aigéan will work just fine :)

And that’s a good idea. If I happen to draw one of these things again, I’ll be sure to include that in some way - I think Alp-Luachra are too cute to have something creepy-looking like a third eyelid, but maybe that’s just me.
I think its just something some frogs do when their sleeping. I had a tree frog once that used to do it.
I just kind of assumed that’s what it was doing, seeing how it is curled up and all. Plus these ones don’t seem like their supposed to be the cute and cuddly kind.
I’ve no idea what that is but it’s ugly and I don’t like it.
