Maybe they don’t want to overexpose her, or perhaps they’re trying to keep the “Mane 6,” to the “Mane 6” for the most part.
Ironically, in the earlier ads for “Rainbow Rocks” before the movie was even finished being made, DJ PON3 was featured in some of the ads, and promotions, which lead fans to believe she was going to have a larger role in the movie. She didn’t. Though, she did help out the “mane 7” characters a li’l bit.
Granted it’s at least a bit justified here.
You’d think she’d get a bit more light in advertising now that the secret’s out.

Granted she did get alot of focus in the movie.
Er… she’s on the Netflix instant version of the Rainbow Rocks cover. Does that count?
yeah… but she never appears in the promotional, and that’s weird considering that she is the heroine of the movie

To be fair, Sunset Shimmer has a decent amount of toys. Just not one in this particular sub-line…
