Yeah, to say this page gives them more character than the show is nothing but “COMICZ SUPERIOR SHOW INFERIOR ME WANT UNITWI BACK” mentality… Generally. Don’t know well your case.
Spike and Luna already have developed characters, here they just shine better because of a nice dialogue (reason why I really like Ted Anderson’s writing: the interaction between characters is brilliant)
…altough that Dragon City IS a Major contradiction with the show, and seems kind of oout of nowhere and nonsensical in-Universe. Still hoping this issue makes it a believable reason, or that the Story is at least as good as the previous FF.
Wait, what?
Are you talking about Spike not doing well with other dragons or dont having confidence? mayor plot points of “dragon quest” and “equestrian games”
Or are you talking about Luna feeling overshadowed by celestia AKA the reason she turned into Nightmare Moon that is explanied on the firsts minutes of the firs episode?
Maybe they’re all teenagers.
Or are all smaller by not practicing greed.
Or however that works.
Okay, that’s kind of cool, but seriously?? The comics obviously take place at about the same time as or shortly after the most recent TV episodes. And in the very first such episode, Fluttershy (an expert on animals) reveals that she didn’t even know dragons could talk! Besides, there was that whole dragons-are-completely-incompatible-with-pony-society thing in Dragonshy and then there was that whole dragons-are-complete-plotholes-who-show-no-respect-for-other-lifeforms-and-are-prepared-to-fight/kill-Twilight-Rainbow-Dash-and-Rarity thing in Dragon Quest!! So there is no way that there is not only a place in Equestria where dragons live in a pony city, but that place has evidently been established for quite some time!!!
But…but it doesn’t make a lick of sense.
According to the show, Ponies know next to nothing about dragons. They’re too big/scary to approach, so their knoweledge on them is extremely limited. And now we’re supposed to believe there’s a dragon “district” in a city?
I think we can take the comic “seriously” some times, depending on what happens…but this is just plain lore-breaking. I think this is one of those cases where the comic shouldn’t be taken as canon.
It’s been a long time since Dragon Quest happened. Maybe Dragon Town was established between then and now. It would explain the tensions between dragons and ponies.
It depends. Some places it’s a member of the fire department, others it’s the state police, and a very large city could possibly have arson investigators as part of the local police or fire departments. Plus the insurance company responsible for the burned property has the right to supply their own investigators and hired consultants.
As an arson investigator myself, I might find this one interesting.
Meanwhile, I think this could go to Tartarus in a handbasket XD
And, how? Spike.
You saw Nightmare like everybody else.
