Probably because it’s uncolored and too sketchy to realize who it is from the thumbnail. I looked through the list of everything with the tatzlpony tag and had no idea that was Celestia until seeing the larger image.

Just reflex. People do lots of redundant things like that.
she’s not really holding it with her tentacles, tatzlepones just have an instinctual need to feel everything they interact with with their tentacles.
