I’ve had natto once. It’s fermented soy beans, so the taste is kind of like soy sauce only not nearly as salty.
 
I actually liked it, but I can see why some folks can’t stand the stuff. Its texture is really weird–basically soft beans in a sticky and slimy goo.

Nattō  
Nattō (なっとう or 納豆?) is a traditional Japanese food made from soybeans fermented with Bacillus subtilis var. natto. Some eat it as a breakfast food. Nattō may be an acquired taste because of its powerful smell, strong flavor, and slimy texture.
 
I think I’ll pass.
