@redweasel
You’re right. Myself I haven’t been really liking where it was going with the last few posts. And if the artist doesn’t feel the image it’s possible that the viewer wouldn’t feel the image either.
I am working on another short comic for spike trying to explore how his interactions effect what he learns and how he matures from the experience, and trying to make it more worth while rather than “pose for the camera”. Only thing is it takes time so it’s going to be a little while till i’m done with that.
As for imnotpinkiepie. It’s still in the works, it hasn’t been dropped yet so don’t worry. Shooting to get it out and ready for posting before this year’s end so we’ll see.
I really appreciate with your honesty about how you feel about the blog. I’ll really take what you said into consideration and really make it into a goal to really push more on the lessons he learns throughout different slice of life moments.
I liked this at first but, it’s… not going anywhere. spike’s life should have things happening in it, lessons learned, what will become his eventual progression to maturity. as-is he doesn’t seem to have much of a life at all. sleeping and reading. the biggest crisis has been this, being uncomfortable about taking a formal photograph. even my life is more exciting than that, and I don’t even have any friends.
the art style is gorgeous, don’t get me wrong, but the nondescript backgrounds and the static characters really fall flat in it. your art looks so much better in a dynamic situation with a lot of action and conflict. maybe I’m just sad from missing “I’m not pinkie pie” but I asked myself here what should spike do next, and found myself utterly unable to give a single fuck about what spike’s going to do next.
These slife of life stories always bring a smile to my face. Imsokyo let me declare my love for you
