The point isn’t even about the “pink” hair, even if the hair was blood red it isn’t really the issue that stands out to me. It’s the flat black body color and lack of creativity in design, along with a severely terrible level of quality even for a crappy base recolor.

That’s like saying “a bluish shade of light blue” since pink is a light shade of red… so what was your point exactly? This specific shade is far closer to red than pink anyway.

I like how everyone is saying its black and red but I know the artist personally and its actually a black and really redish pink. This isn’t red.

I like it, i don’t care if its bad or if its not creative. It was a gift and that’s what means a lot. I know this guy and he’s very nice and kind.

You’ve not read the stories with this character… God damn, it’s some awful stuff. This thing is friends with all of the main six, is the daughter of Celestia, everyone accepts her being an ABDL in public, is made of magic, actually only 1 year old because reasons and more.

I don’t dislike this for the design, I dislike this for the lack of creativity. Red and black is fine but this looks like a MS Paint coloration of a pony base with a diaper slapped on…..The diaper is great, but I would suggest that you might invest a bit more time (or money or w/e) into getting a serious picture done. Also, it might be nice to see eye color as well.

Red/Black is quite fun, but Blue/Black is what always carried the day for me.
 
Imagine if someone ponified the Guilds of Ravnica, using their dual coloration for each? That could be an interesting Red/Black OC.

Mostly because it’s a commonly used color combination by “Edgy”, “Dark”, “Angsty”, or “zOMG so Evulz” OC’s. As well, it is seen as uncreative and unoriginal, due to the above reason.
 
The combination can be used well, but such usage is rare. It’s like an alicorn OC. I’ve seen some who were well-made and likeable, but they tend to be drowned out by the torrent of badly designed characters.
 
Alternatively, people may also hate red/black OC’s because they got royally schooled by a Red/Black deck while playing Magic.
