The difference between Pinkie Pie and Applejack is that, Pinkie is expected to be silly. AJ is supposed to be the hardworking straight pony, so when she does something so off the wall silly, I feel obligated to point out her sillyness!

Dirt is a mixture of a lot of organic stuff that’s decomposed to the point where it doesn’t stink any more.
Though, typically dirt with a stronger scent is more fertile.
Either way, plants take the nutrients in the dirt and use them to grow.
