Why aren’t they making eye contact?

it might be useful to study the specifics of the ways in which they fail to get better, though
 
this person has posted nearly a thousand drawings to deviantart
 
clearly most of those drawings don’t really constitute practice, or they would have gotten better by now
 
so how does one draw a thousand things over the course of eight years without ever practicing drawing?
 
The uniformity of their character designs (with very minor changes in poses drawn) seems to indicate that they sidestepped practice by devising one particular construction of something resembling a body-shape and then doing that a few hundred times.
 
I theorize that once they don’t do figure studies and they don’t try new things. Once they found a formula for something that sort-of worked they stuck with it forever.
