Most likely. It’s what happened to Digimon: They dumbed down the writing so much, to the point where it stopped feeling like an anime and felt more like a saturday morning cartoon. Removal of violence, dumb jokes every 30 seconds, and terrible voice acting.

uhh….saint seiya was not for children, at least american ones, maybe that is why it had a crappy USA’s dub.
Probably because a lot of animes aimed at children in USA were dubbed pretty terribly.
I’m looking at you, Digimon seasons 1-3.
but is true, saint seiya was never popular in usa, but in latin america it became part of the childhood of loads of 90s kids.
