The old me really was just awful, wasn’t she?” In context, she’s not necessarily talking about herself now, just the way she was up until the Fall Formal.

Personally, I like the idea that Sunset didn’t start feeling anything for Flash until after the Fall Formal and her change of heart…
 
Which sucks for her, since it’s also my headcanon that Flash basically hates her at that point. He doesn’t want to do anything that would lower him to her level, so mostly he just acts like she doesn’t exist. If someone did manage to goad him into talking about her, forget saying anything nice, just staying civil might be too much to ask.
