Yeah the leash thing is kinda weird… if it wasn’t explained that Rainbow Dash is not comfortable carrying a cane in her mouth constantly so she can walk around in public. Although she still hates the leash. If you even took a passing glance at the tumblr you’d know that. Also I’m postie the leash has been retconned out. She just hooks her wing around Twilight when they’re out.
Maybe you need to read it more carefully.

At least Islamshy was hilariously stupid, the whole concept was just retarded.
Whilst making Rainbow Dash blind is just the new ‘losing a wing’ of cliches and the character interactions are just all terrible and the leash thing is just because the artist likely has that fetish, since there are other, smarter ways to lead a blind pegasus around than by a leash.
I could list the ways but I think I’d fine this post system’s character limit.

What’s weird is his face down at Filly Twilight in this comic with the dance.
It’s the most pure form of a rape face I’ve ever seen.
He’s a conspiracy theorist pony, so whatever made him lose his wing probably made him into a nutjob.
And people have thrown around “Mary Sue” so many times it’s lost its meaning. Crystal wings would be a Mary Sue thing.
