@Sr Pelusa
The people who make the show know never to use the word for onomatopoeia or puns. I wouldn’t be surprised if it were some sort of internal rule for writers for several reasons.

Guys, calm dow. CLOP is the sound effect of hooves; and yes, it is official, like that Hoof Beat variant cover and the time Andy Price drew Charles Manson in the Rarity one-shot
Wait, is this actual dialogue from the comic? I know what particular meaning they’re going with here, but still, the little kid in me snickered to hear it.
yep
Head shakingly awesome
@Itsthinking
But this comic wasn’t made by those people
Yes, but the cover was planned way ahead before the doujinshi, besides it was a coincidence
This… actually happened?? Like, IDW printed it?
LOVERS!
Hoof Beat variant cover? Please tell me more…
Oh, IDW…!
No worries, I understood you.
Just to be clear, I meant that pony, not Manson. Having read Helter Skelter I know who Crazy Charlie is.
Ah, so that’s who he was. Thanks.
Disgustin’
Wait, Charlie Manson appeared in the Rarity one shot? Where?

Shrug and do what we usually do?
Someone involved is definitely invested in the latter, I can say that much with certainty.
@Background Pony #9EF6
Anderson wrote it, so he was probably clueless.
