Yup- but there’s no reason not to make a useful source link available while it’s still there.

“http://i.4cdn.org/mlp/1429735064489.png” is not a proper source. It’s just a direct link to the image. Derpibooru already provides download links, so an extra link to the image itself doesn’t really help anyone.
A source is the page where the image was originally displayed. (In this case, the 4chan thread where the image was posted.) Its purpose is so others can go look at the contextual madness that gave birth to the image.
I was able to dig up the proper thread based on the “/mlp/” and “3d thread” tags since the image is only a few hours old at this point, but in a few days that probably would have been really hard for someone to find.
The currently active 3D thread on 4chan was not the first and won’t be the last and it will be increasingly more difficult to locate the particular thread for this image as time goes on.
