Yyyup. He basically condensed the treatment for Season 2 down to a movie length script; the pacing is kinda rushed as a result, but fortunately Whedon is pretty good at dense storytelling.
Ah.
Incidentally, is it true that the movie Serenity was basically everything Whedon had planned for a second season of the show crammed into a 2-hour movie? I know the follow-up comics are referred to as “Season 3” (kind of like the Season 8 and beyond comics for Buffy and the Angel comics)…
