I’ve not read much in the way of Manga illustrated novels.
 
As for the other Studio Ghibli films, I have quite a few, although there are some I’m still missing.  
The others I have that haven’t been mentioned here are
 
Pom Poko, (fun, but a bit weird)
 
Ponyo (Ghibli’s answer to ‘The Little Mermaid’, and well worth a watch)
 
The Little Norse Prince (not actually got around to watching this yet, but it’s in Japanese with subtitles and reading instead of watching gets on my nerves)
 
Tales From Earthsea (Con’t remember much about this one- long time since I watched it)
 
Whisper Of The Heart (great animated film that could so easily have been done live action. Wouldn’t appeal to everyone though)
 
Kiki’s Delivery Service (another fun film that’d be a good one for kids in the same way Totoro was)
 
From Up On Poppy Hill (Much like Whisper Of The Heart, a good film but wouldn’t appeal to everyone)
 
And of course Arietty (Based on ‘The Borrowers’, and another one I need to get around to watching)
 
I also have Howl’s Moving Castle. (Great film).
 
I don’t have ‘Princess Mononoke’ but I have watched it. One on my ‘to get’ list.

Yes, GotF was meant to be depressing. Very depressing, actually.
 
What about Princess Mononoke? So epic.

And have you read the manga of Nausicaa? My favorite manga - my favorite illustrated novel, actually - ever.

I always though of Ghibli as Japan’s answer to Disney.  
My all-time favourite film is a Ghibli release.

They’ve done some other great stuff too.  
The Cat Returns, My Neighbour Totoro, Nausicaa (Why there’s so little crossover art of Fluttershy as the princess from Nausicaa yet I don’t know >>17078 is the only one I can find), Spirited Away, and Porco Rosso to name but a few.
 
They have done a couple that weren’t so good.  
Grave Of The Fireflies, whilst stunningly animated, was incredibly depressing. (I’m aware it was supposed to be depressing though).

The correct adjective to be used in correlation with Studio Ghibli isn’t “bad”, but “awesome”.
 
And still, Studio Ghibli’s future isn’t certain :(
