I don’t have a good rebuttal for that, its true sometimes it doesn’t work out. But people should still give it a shot if they’re willing, wanting, and capable.

@Strangefacts101 Are you kidding being sterile is a blessing in disguise, you can fuck all day and not worry about children and if you still want them you can always adopt some foster kids, there are already too many of them. Being a single parent with an accidental offspring you never wanted in the first place just seems like a bigger burden.

Well, the reason I disbelieve in the existence of perfect beings is because no examples exist outside of old superstitions. Even if these so called perfect beings existed (they’re much more likely to be conceited than actually perfect) perfect to not so sure it’s a good idea to take the back seat, inspite of their superior judgment. If they were more advanced than us, they might see us as either animals or native savages to be tamed or slaughtered for their own gain. The only way either of us could see eye to eye is if we had a reasonable disposition to negotiate. Considering that said creatures are “perfect”, they will have plenty of leverage over us. But this is assuming quite a bit, even in a universe where the chances of life are a matter of inevitability, its entirely possible that this perfect being simply does not exist. In which case we the idiots (who never surpassed a triple digit iq) have the best chance of creating supposedly the first universal civilization. In which case, one of the following has happened to the rest of life in the universe: either they never existed in the first place, life is so far apart that we have no examples of coexisting aliens bumping into each other, or every previous civilization has for whatever reason destroyed itself. This is what’s known as the Great Filter, we dont know why life is rare (if it is) but as far as we know nobody’s made an intergalactic community. Something has prevented this from happening and the question is whether or not the destructive force (the filter) is in front of us or behind us. If it’s in behind us we already surpassed the trials and tribulations of all previous lifeforms and will in otherworldly conquest, but if it’s in front of us we face unavoidable extinction, in the same manner that has somehow kept life impossible except outside of our vicinity. Some aliens would also likely ponder whether or not their alone in the universe, maybe some share your views and choose to remain grounded on their native planet, but the curiosity and ambition of human beings will make others venture into the ever expanding, unfathomably large and dangerous void. I don’t think human beings necessarily have to be worthy of exploring the universe, so much as they have to be able and willing. The problem inlays when they actually find something.Think of it like this a creature that lives at the bottom of the ocean has seen a vast world that most humans have yet to explore, but inspite of the vast civilizations that are above, it is completely unaware of its existence, just as the humans might not be aware of the creatures existence. Out of the seven billion people in the world, we have managed to acknowledge each other’s existence, if only for the purpose of this conversation.

The thing is, humanity isn’t capable of doing that. Through my entire time on this planet, I’ve always seen that humans just can’t be consistent. They try to improve, but they fall back into old patterns and mistakes quickly. Humans never truly learn.
No, my point stands. Humanity should stay on Earth and leave the rest of the universe to more intelligent species that exist somewhere out there.
And about this:

“The world can be never be a perfect place, perfection is an unreachable standard”

So? But where do you take this from? What makes you so sure that the only reason why humanity thinks perfection doesn’t exist isn’t because humans are simply incapable of perfection and because they can’t grasp the concept as it is too high for them? And that there isn’t another species somewhere in the universe who is capable of grasping the concept of perfection?

I don’t see why everyone would all stop reproducing. Inspite of the fact that there is already a metric assload of people in the world, even though people are having less children the population keeps on growing. Even so, life is getting better, our apelike ancestors could not fathom eating an animal they didn’t have to chase with a stick and could be stored safely for months in advance, or driving a distance that would otherwise take days to walk. This is barely scratching the surface of how far we’ve come and I don’t see the point of giving up now. Sometimes the lengthy journey is it’s own point. We have the option to make the universe a better place, and if we all died now, it would exist only to serve as a reminder to whomever thay finds the ruins, of a strange otherworldly neighbor that lost it’s way on a never ending journey. Proof of its existence is hard to find, but it was obvious that these beings came a long way, before abruptly giving up. Part of the beauty of the scientific method, is that it doesn’t waste time speaking of purpose, but rather only giving you the facts the way they are and allowing you to provide your own reason. Life can have any meaning you want it to have. Considering that as far as we can prove, there is no afterlife, there is no point in being anything less than as happy as can be, if for no other reason than to celebrate life while its here. We have the option to change an already desolate universe to whatever we want it to be like. We can’t get rid of all the problems and pollution, without ceasing to exist, that much is true, I’ll grant you, but if everyone would just set aside a moment of their time to clean up after themselves, the world be a lot less shitty for it. The world can be never be a perfect place, perfection is an unreachable standard, but it can always get better. In any case it’s better than oblivion.

I am surprised. And I was already suspecting that you slap me with sarcasm, until I came to the last sentence.

Spreading to other planets, though? Eww, no, humanity should stay isolated where it is right now. It’s enough that it nearly ruined one planet that will likely never recover from the damage (unless humanity extincts in a very sudden way), it shouldn’t pollute more planets out there with its “innovation”.
It should better reach for birth control via sterilization and/or castration in the future. Will be hard to get all nations of Earth on board with this, but it’s the only way to save the planet from complete destruction and to keep humanity contained where it is right now at the same time.

Well I suppose you’re right, by trying to keep the victims from having a part of their rapist for the rest of their lives, my own and similar opinions created an even bigger problem. More over, I made the mistake of presenting a serious issue on a comment section for a shitpost(it was meant as a joke and I took it too far). All this time I was worried about the traumatized women that were struck by someone who couldn’t keep it in their pants, but I never saw an unborn fetus as an actual human being. I realize now that preventing someone from existing in the first place is the same as murder and am deeply ashamed for my previous assertion. I know now, that there’s no adequate or safe solution to overpopulation. We need to look to stars and spread our innovation across an unexplored universe of infinite possibilities, instead of trying to destroy everything beautiful of the old world. Only then can we survive until the last star in the universe goes out. (you probably weren’t expecting a full 180 degree change in my attitude, but you’re the only one I’ve ever been able to speak about this openly, most of the people I know are rather set in their own ways and refuse to talk about it from a logical standpoint, thank you).

Oh, don’t get me wrong, there are definitely too many humans on Earth. Too many for the planet to carry, so many, that I would support an earth-wide, mandatory and strict birth control and the sterilization of female humans. Measures that, whether you like it or not, will become necessary one day anyway, because humanity keeps growing like a virus and space, water and even food will become sparse eventually.
But I wasn’t talking about humans, I was talking in a broader sense. The value of life in general. Don’t throw away a life for another one, unless it’s absolutely necessary or unavoidable. The child isn’t at fault for the way it was conceived and shouldn’t suffer from it. Especially considering that rape that happened would have two victims then; the raped female who has to live with the trauma and the child who never gets to live in the first place.

For your concerns, did you know there have been a couple of pre-teen girls that successfully gave birth and that all of them survived? The youngest mother on Earth was five years old:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lina_Medina

She stayed healthy during the entire time of her pregnancy and also afterwards. And I already said that an abortion is unavoidable if there is actual reason to believe that the girl won’t make it through pregnancy or the birth process.
And having to ponder a certain heritage is still better than never getting to live in the first place. Besides, if the adoptive parents of a child born by a young girl never give the child the feeling that it’s a bad offspring and teach it that it isn’t at fault for the circumstances of how it was perceived, then this child will never think low of itself. It’s all a matter of raising the child the right way and giving it the feeling that it’s just as worthy as other children are.
And the rest are typical problems all adopted children have to deal with anyway, regardless of who their parents are.
Finally, I disagree with your last sentence. No one should decide about life or death like that.

But have you considered the size of the host. The baby would be half of her body size, that is to say that even if she survived the initial pregnancy it would more than likely leave permanent damage. The foal, on the other hand, if placed in a foster care (which need I remind you is already overburdened) will always ponder why their parents were simply unable to raise them. The father being a child molester facing serious time in prison, and his/her mother being a disfigured ten year old. Admittedly the abortion also carries the risk of damaging the mother (I’m not a salesperson) it’s often not worth the hassle, but neither was having coital sex with a minor. When faced with our surplus population and the amount of produce required to keep even one person alive, you do have to admit that survival is selfish. To put it simply, life comes at the cost of more life. Now people should take responsibility for their own actions when an accidental pregnancy occurs, but I draw the line when the pregnancy is the end result of rape, pedophilia, or incest. I don’t know Troubleshoe’s entire family tree, but this could very well be all three at the same time. No woman, under the aforementioned circumstances should be forced to produce babies against their will.

It doesn’t need to be raising a foal. There’s adoption and this would be the better solution. As long as Applebloom can give birth to the foal safely without a significant risk for her health (not more risk than what comes with birthing naturally), there is no sane reason to destroy a new life.

It’s ok, she doesn’t even have her cutie mark yet. So she can’t get pregnant.
