I like the dubstep cello idea. It makes me think that Octavia appreciates Vinyl Scratch’s tastes in music so she fuses it with her own and it builds a bit of a stronger relationship between the two in my mind.

The issue with this ship is that Opposites Attract work when they have the same goals but different means of getting to them. Vinyl and Octavia seem to be completely alien in their goals and in thus it wouldn’t really work out. There must be a connection, and sorry but them both being musicians doesn’t cut it. You cannot expect someone who is loud, obnoxious and rude to get along with someone who’s quiet sophisticated and classy, without any alternative motives to it. If they both wanted to bring culture back to Equestria, that’d work. But Octavia’s goals seem to be keep the culture alive where it is. And Vinyl’s goals seem to be more on the free side and just wants to party.

Haven’t you heard “Opposite attract”? Basically the idea of pairing the more reserved, calm and classical cellist with a more upbeat, loud and techno Dj is full of contrasts it complements each other.

Of course they could complain. You can’t please those guys, but if the show was cancelled, I bet those could be the first to cry “WHY DON’T YOU BRING THIS AMAZING SHOW BACK!?” and call every single episode sacred (just like they do with every Faust Era episode, including messes like Owl that Ends Well, Mare Do Well or Ponyville Confidential.)

No, I knew that. I just meant that when they said “cello dubstep” I assumed that they were talking about a song for both Tavi and Vinyl. I don’t get how anyone would assume they’d just be making Tavi into a dubstep musician on her own.

Who says it’s just Octavia? When I heard “Electric Cello Dubstep,” after obtaining a clean pair of pants, I assumed it would be an Octavia/Vinyl duet number.
