King Solmidas from my upcoming fanfiction project, “Age of the Alicorns: Chaos Rising”
Below is a brief description of the character:
King Solmidas is the first of the alicorns to be crowned king of Equestria. Before he was king, he found his ability to raise the sun at an early age and it has been his duty to do so every day. Later on he became a member of the Equestrian parliament. Due to his accomplishments and great sense of leadership, he was elected to be Equestria’s next king, and therefore the first alicorn to rule the country. He fell in love with the alicorn who raised the moon at night, Chernalia, and they were married making her the queen. They soon bore two daughters, Celestia and Luna, who would become the next leaders of Equestria.
As a young alicorn, Solmidas was very brave and devoted but never had he guessed he would rule the country one day. He was a bit unsure of himself in his youth, but after his many accomplishments and experience, he was perfectly eligible for leadership. His people revere him for his wisdom and strength. He is stern but very hospitable and compassionate. All his life, he has enjoyed leading Equestria, but he feels that his time has come to give up that position to Celestia and Luna.
Well, that is King Solmidas people. I love how he turned out and I hope I did him justice. I especially love how the wings turned out. Obviously I was inspired by Princess Cadance’s gradient wings in the show and I thought it would look interesting on him so I tried it out and it looked better. And his mane and tail are pretty much just like Celestia’s except more like fire so that it would seem a lot like the sun. His cutie mark is also an altered version of Celestia’s, with straight pointing rays rather than the curly ones that Celestia has. I also gave him a pretty cool chest-plate and necklace and a bigger crown than Celestia’s to evoke a more ‘kingly’ look. I think it suits him well. :nod:
Fun fact: Solmidas’ name is a combination of the word ‘solar’ and King Midas.
