It’d be fun to watch these two actually trying to rule for a week or two. Of course Celly and Luna would be watching nearby, ready to stop them before they can wreck things too badly.

My headcanon on the other hand is that both of them have some kind of royal blood running on their veins. Rarity could come from the ancient royalty of the Crystal Empire, and Fluttershy could be an unknwn bastard from some member of Celestia’s family, or Celestia herself.
