Description
- Florina (I was going to pick Apple Blossom but I feel it’s so over-used now. So I chose Florina, which translates from latin meaning “flowering, in bloom”.)
- Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara
- Earth Pony
- (Future) Wildlife Conservationist
- Protecting wildlife, particularly rare species of plants such as flowers. Her cutie-mark will eventually be a pink flower with with white sparkles around it.
- Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara had been enemies as their time as schoolchildren in Ms. Cheerilee’s class, but soon learned to be pleasant around each other once they began going into business. This rocky beginning soon turned into a friendship, which involved a lot of teasing on both ends. Tiara by forcing Apple Bloom to doll herself up for meetings, and Apple Bloom by inviting Tiara to her family reunions. This soon turned into a romance during a private meeting, which involved a bit of wine and some tearful confessions and apologies for behavior when they were children. One confession had caught Apple Bloom’s ear, and had stuck with her the next day after. AB soon used this as teasing material, but had expected anything else from her business partner than a frustrated kiss.
This caused a terrible awkwardness between them until Applejack gave her younger sister some advice: “Get your flank in gear and go apologize. No reason to tease anypony for fallin’ for ya.” And Apple Bloon duly took this advice and did as she was told. Tiara apologized as well, confessing she had had a crush on the farmer since their childhood, but had no idea how to express this, so she had taken her frustration out on Apple Bloom instead. AB said that was a terrible way of expressing herself, and they both laughed. After a few moments Tiara decided to ask Apple Bloom to dinner, who agreed if only because she was curious how it would be to date a wealthy businessmare who was also her friend and former enemy. She hadn’t expected to suddenly and inexplicably fall in love with her on their third date, when Tiara had fallen in the mud and had, for once in her life, not complain and even laugh. To see such a pony as Diamond Tiara, a snooty uptight mare who thought highly of herself, fall in the mud and laugh had melted her heart. It didn’t help that she had taken her mane out of it’s bow and told her how lovely she looked without it.
They married after a year and received no complaints at all from anyone, neither the Apples nor Filthy Rich. They had all knew that at some point an Apple was going to marry a Rich, even if they hadn’t expect Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara to be those wed. The wedding was on the most beautiful part of Sweet Apple Acres, with both country music and waiters waiting on hoof and hand. It was quite a joyous event, and everyone had left happy.
Diamond Tiara had a house built on the opposite end of Sweet Apple Acres, within equal distance of the Rich mansion and the Apple homestead, so they would both be happy and not far away from their original home. Eventually the couple had wanted a child of their own, and soon turned to magic for a solution. And luckily it had the answer: magic potions that could turn one pony the opposite gender for as long as they needed, one to turn them to the opposite gender and one to turn them back. This discovery had been made by Princess Twilight herself after dabbling in potionsmaking and studying more of Starswirl’s archaic manuscripts. Despite how expensive the potions were, Princess Twilight personally sent them a couple after being contacted by Applejack. Diamond Tiara had volunteered to turn into a male, complaining that she didn’t want to have her entire wardrobe thrown out because she was pregnant, and they soon began attempting. And, at last, Florina was born!
- Florina is a gentle, somewhat shy filly who is fascinated with nature, especially insects and plants. Unlike Fluttershy, who has helped mentor her, Florina does not speak to plants, but simply understands them. She absolutely adores the ecosystem, and always protects plants at any costs. You can often find her protecting weeds from gardeners, spouting off how dandelions can be used for tea, or thistles roots as replacement for artichoke in meals. Unlike her mother Tiara, Florina is unfazed by mud or dirt, and often unknowingly tracks it in the house. But she does like to be treated to the spa from time to time, but definitely dislikes being too vain and has no patience for ponies who care too much of their own image. Florina dislikes having ponies serve her and likes to take care of herself.
When Florina becomes older, she’ll travel around Equestria in a Wildlife Conservation team to protect the wilderness from the growing reach of society. She goes through a hippie-dippy phase for awhile, but is usually the most level-headed of the entire group.
-Extras:
Florina particularly likes bees and how they work so fluidly with plants, and studies them often. She has endured many a bee sting, but her love of the insects has never lessened.
Florina gained her cutie mark by protecting a rare type of flower from a bully at school who had threatened to crush it with his hoof.
Florina daydreams a lot. She sometimes dreams of being tree.
- Relationships:
Sound Wave and Florina have met each other and see each other frequently due to Fluttershy’s mentoring of the filly. They get along very well, but Florina prefers him when he isn’t shouting, since it tends to scare insects off from their usual patterns. Despite this she often asks him to do animal calls, mostly because she finds them entertaining.
Seed Seeker and Florina know of each other, and are quite fond of each other due to their love of plants. Although they don’t see each-other every day due to Syd’s travelling, they do keep in touch through letters. Florina often asks Syd to help her identify plants and seeds that she has found, and helps whenever Syd asks how to handle a daydreamer like Sunny.
Sunny and Florina are peas in a pod. Although their interests don’t overlap, they do enjoy each other’s company whenever they find themselves with it. Their conversations are often very confusing and usually filled with nonsensical thoughts of daydreamers. You can find them lying in the grass talking and watching the clouds.
