Slight problem.  
This animation has her staying on the ground.  
Artorias launches into the air when he does this.  
The extra force from the fall is what makes it a dangerous attack.

the cake goes to the teacher of the other gym, 5 backflip from complete stop
 
 
and you are actually right, there is no real power between this attack shown, all the damage is done by gravity; mostly ineffective but a real show-off

It looks good, but it feels like there’s not any sort of power being put into it. Maybe it’s because I don’t do Final Fantasy so I can’t compare. But starting from a dead-stop to flipping like that doesn’t feel natural to watch.
